Get to know the therapist:

"I want you to know when you're alone and you feel afraid
You're not the only person in the world that isn't okay
There's millions of us just like you"

Amanda is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) who completed a dual-studies undergraduate at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO in both Psychology and Sociology. She went on to complete her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, AK, completing the requisite 3000 post-graduate hours and becoming licensed in several states.

Amanda's experience
over the course of ten years includes working in community mental health, acute treatment and detox, case management, mobile crisis outreach, holistic wellness clinical counseling, and private practice. Her
passion is working with individuals who are recovering from past traumatic experiences, such as military veterans, women leaving domestic violence, individuals who experienced childhood abuse and trauma and are ready to address it, and those with more recent impacts. She has completed a vast array of continuing education trainings, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma Therapies, and Brainspotting.

Amanda was diagnosed in adulthood with ADHD, an experience that shaped her understanding and empathy for late-diagnosed clients and the required readiness for engaging in therapy, healing old wounds, and making new changes. In her free time, she enjoys cuddling up with a great book and tea, her vast amount of pets, attending concerts, sports, or live musicals/theatre, and going on adventures with her husband and kids. Her favorite places to be at any given time is either up in the mountains or next to the ocean.

Of Special Note

**Because I prioritize client care, wellness and safety, I strive to ensure every client has my undivided attention for their hour with me. Start and ending times often get shifted throughout my day to accommodate clients with imminent needs, crises, or intense sessions. Appointments may be adjusted within 5-15 minutes at any given time, though I still try to ensure that clients still get their full session whenever possible. At times, I may have to reduce sessions from full hour to 45 minutes. I do not charge fees for clients running late to appointments; however, if more than 30 minutes late, the appointment will have to be rescheduled. If perfect time adherence is a critical need in your care, I may not be the best fit for your needs at this time.
